Years 7 - 10 ICT
Through the years 7 - 10 the VELS curriculum is very specific in what needs to be taught. That being said there are a lot of differing ways that you can get to the students to the goals set out by VELS. In my opinion the first thing that should be covered would be finding out exactly what each student knows (i.e. previous experience with computers) and from that build the foundation of the education. An introduction to computers could take place after that before going into greater depth about hardware, software and the importance of computers. From that point I would work out exactly the goals of VELS and the goals I have for the students, and the work back from that.
